Tour de France 2025 stage 4 preview: Puncheurs and sprinters alike revel in a shot at victory in Rouen
Tuesday, July 8, 2025: Amiens Métr🦹opole - Rouen, 173 km

As the Tour de France leaves the Nord-P♊as-de-Calais region after the Grand Départ, the riders will head south from Amiens to Rouen, staying adjacent to the coast along the route for a stage that could suit ☂both puncheurs and sprinters alike.
The parcours features a lot of undulating terrain with five categorised climbs in the last 50km, whi൩ch will likely decide the outcome of the stage.
After the chaos of stage 3, which saw multiple riders hit the ground and green-jersey leader Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) aban𝓡don the race with a fractured right collarbone, sprinters will undoub👍tedly want to have another day to shine under less dangerous circumstances.
Tim Merlier (Soudal-QuickStep) may have won the stage, as Jonathan Mila♓n (Lidl-Trek) finished second and took over the points jersey, but with an uphill finish, more than just the sprinters will be eyeing the victory in Rouen.
The summit of the final climb, the Rampe Saint-Hilaire (0.8km at 10.6%), comes with just 5km to go before an uphill drag to the finish, meaning that the puncheurs could also contes🔯t the stage and perhaps even some of the GC contenders.
